“Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous” (Albert Einstein).
A few years ago I came across this quote and it always rang true in my life. Even NOW, as I begin writing about Sami and Scott’s maternity session, I can’t help but smile because this quote automatically comes to mind.
I first connected with this sweet couple when I had the opportunity of photographing their wedding on 10/06/2018 (check out their beautiful day here)! From the start, I thought how cool of a coincidence it was to be shooting a wedding on MY own wedding anniversary (10/7/2017).
Fast forward about 5 months...Sami reached out to me with news that her and Scott wanted to book a maternity session! I was so excited to hear the news that they were expecting their son's arrival in mid June 2019.
Spring came before I knew it, and we met for their maternity session on May 25. It was a beautiful day and spending the afternoon with them felt more like hanging out with friends. Nearing the end of our time together, we spent a few moments just catching up. We talked about how fast time seemed to be moving – that how it felt like just yesterday it was their wedding day. I went on to joke that I was feeling “old” because my birthday was the next day (May 26, 2019) and I was going to be 30! LOL
Fast forward to the next day / My Birthday....and I am surprised to receive this message from Sami...
“Happy belated Birthday…..crazy story….” She started.
“The baby is here!”
My mouth dropped ! WHAT? Seriously?? I continued reading....
“After our session, we went and had game night at our house with friends. At 11:45pm I got up to go to the bathroom and my water broke! I gave birth at 10:07am so you two share the same birthday! So far he is doing great! Just figured you’d love to know how our day with you ended <3”
Sami & Scott, Congratulations again! I don’t think I will ever get over these “crazy awesome coincidences”. I am very grateful and honored to have captured this milestone for you both, such an incredible miracle and blessing! My prayers and thoughts are with you both as you grow your family. Enjoy a few of my favorites from our time together!
