Hanover Tavern Bridal Portrait Session in Mechanicsville Virginia|Kellyn |Sarah Duke Photography
Sunday August 4, 2019
What I will remember most from my time with Kellyn during her bridal portraits is when I showed her the back of my camera after the first few images I captured:
"I'm just so excited, I want you see what I'm seeing" I said as I flipped my camera around to her.
Standing there in her gorgeous, full train, beaded, Stella York gown, I watched as Kellyn's reaction became enamored with what she saw,
"Oh. my. gosh....that's me? " she asked as her eyes filled with tears.
Tears.
Wait,
TEARS?!
Wait.......
"NO don't cry!" I blurted.
I think I'll always remember this moment (not only because this type of reaction was the first I have ever experienced) but because to me, it depicted Kellyn in her realest form. For, far beyond the lace and bridal accessories that adorned her, I have come to know Kellyn also wears grace, compassion, and humility...and in that very instant it was like seeing those traits center stage,
"That's me?" she repeated.
"This makes me fall in love with my dress even more. It's so real now, it's so close, I'm so excited!" she said smiling.
I had such an amazing time with Kellyn and above all, it's been a joy forming a friendship with her over the course of this year. Stay tuned for more on her and Ben's big day at the Hanover Tavern ! In the meantime. enjoy some of my favorites from our time together back in August <3
