Hanover Tavern Wedding in Mechanicsville Virginia by Sarah Duke Photography| Ben & Kellyn | Classic Fall Wedding

Saturday September 1, 2019

The outline of the Historical Hanover Courthouse outlined in her eyes as Kellyn looked out the window across the bustling street from where we stood in Hanover Tavern.

That moment.

When her mind turned quiet its demands for coordinating and perfecting the schedule of the day because, the senses in that present instant were just too important to overlook. When all the stressors of preparing and planning dissipated and the love between her heart and his took precedence. A love that had survived and thrived through every season and test through years of fellowship and growing together. A love that led them to… that moment.

While “daughter”, “sister”, and “friend” were already titles she was accustomed to, it was in that very moment reality distinguished Kellyn as “bride.” I watched as gratitude evoked tears in her eyes as her gaze continued. How in just a few moments, she would be sharing her first look with her Father and soon-to-be-husband, Ben.

The Tavern’s front porch provided ample space for Kellyn and her dad to share a first look which was full of smiles and hugs! Following, we made our way across the street where Ben waited patiently under the prominent arches of Hanover’s Historical Courthouse. The terrace mirrored that of an aisle perfectly, and Ben’s reaction was absolutely unforgettable as he turned around. Time stood still the moment his eyes laid on Kellyn.

The rest of the day flowed seamlessly and incorporated so many meaningful traditions! From their heartfelt ceremony at Mechanicsville Christian Center ordained by Matt Hoole, to Ben’s fire station number 6 bringing their fire trucks in celebration, everything together made for a very spectacular wedding for Kellyn and Ben! Even the shuttle company TNT Limousine made for an easy commute to and from the venue and church.

Beautifully coordinated by Tammy Anderson, Hanover Tavern’s Coach House was completely transformed into a classic, elegant, and traditional reception. The navy blue and sage accents really “popped” with the red roof of the historical tavern. Also, the canopied lights adorning the ceiling made for a comfortable and fun loving atmosphere. What made the décor especially unique was that Kellyn hand embroidered EVERY table number! The official celebration commenced after Kellyn and Ben shared toasts with their bridal party and family during their bury the bourbon tradition and the tone was set with the best entertainment and music from Black Tie Entertainment who kept the party going!

Kellyn & Ben,

To say it was an honor capturing your wedding is an understatement. I am so very fortunate to have not only had this opportunity but to have made amazing friends in the process! Congratulations to you both Mr. and Mrs. Moody!

Warmest Regards,

Sarah
