Bridal Session with Kristy at Immanuel Episcopal Church & The Armour House and Gardens | Sarah Duke Photography
April 14, 2018
I was taking a new back-road route one day in Mechanicsville when I saw through the most beautiful magnolia trees what looked like to be a miniature castle. No, seriously.I turned around to take a look and discovered Historical Immanuel Episcopal Church. I was literally shocked that this church was essentially right down the road from me and I never knew it even existed. The prominent red cathedral doors, and the entire architecture of the amazing brick - I KNEW one day I would be doing a bridal session here.
I tucked away in my memory this gorgeous church. Fast forward, a year later, my colleague and friend Kristy who I worked with at MCV Hospital reached out to me about her wedding photography. That's when the light bulb went off, I told her I already had the most perfect spot for her bridal portraits! With permission from the church, we shot the first half of her bridals at Immanuel Episcopal Church.
And we weren't done there! The second portion of her session was at The Armour House and Gardens in Henrico. where we caught the stunning blossoms in bloom and golden hour in the evening.
Enjoy some of my favorites from our time together!
