FAQ

DO YOU TRAVEL?

HOW LONG AFTER THE WEDDING WILL WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS?

Yes, I am available for travel. Up to 50 round trip miles outside of Mechanicsville (23116) are included.  Destination weddings exceeding 50 round trip miles may be subject to a travel and/or lodging fee. Travel fees are determined on a case by case basis.

You will receive a sneak peek of your wedding within two weeks. Your final wedding gallery will be available within two to four weeks

ARE YOU LICENSED AND INSURED?

Yes! Sarah Duke Photography is licensed and insured by R.V. Nuccio & Associates Insurance Brokers, Inc.  A copy of the insurance policy may be provided upon request.

HOW MANY IMAGES SHOULD WE EXPECT TO RECEIVE?|

DO YOU WORK OFF A SHOT LIST?

I average 75-100/hr.  A completed wedding gallery averages at 800-2,000 images!  Your gallery will have a mix of candid, group shots, portraits, and details telling your wedding day story.  Please feel free to view my completed wedding albums under my Portfolio tab on my website.

The only list I need is your family formals shot list! Wedding days unfold differently and I'll capture all of your major moments and details! You can make special notes on your pre-wedding questionnaire of anything you want to make sure I capture!

HOW WILL OUR WEDDING PHOTOS BE DELIVERED? WILL WE HAVE RIGHTS TO OUR IMAGES, OR CAN WE ONLY ORDER PRINTS FROM YOU?

All of your final images will be delivered via an online gallery which allows for the capability to download directly to your computer or any other device. You and anyone you share the link with will have the option to order prints directly through the gallery. You will also receive a letter of printing rights, should you choose to use an outside lab.

DO YOU HAVE BACK UP EQUIPMENT?

ARE YOU COMFORTABLE SHOOTING INDOORS, OR IN DARK PLACES?

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE HAVE INCLEMENT WEATHER?

HOW DO WE SECURE YOU AS OUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

Yes! I have multiple camera bodies and an array of lenses, flash equipment, memory cards, etc. Sometimes technology fails, so we make sure to have a failsafe in place for every scenario.

Yes!  I use a variety of lighting techniques and equipment, and am ready to shoot in any reception space.

The engagement session serves as a “practice” for the wedding day, to work through any nerves from being photographed, and become comfortable with posing.  Use this time to take a break from planning, have some fun with your partner, and walk away with beautiful portraits to display at your wedding reception.

I keep a weather app on my phone to track radar and find dry pockets for photos outside. I will scope out alternate locations at your venue! Don’t stress - we will make it work!

Once you have decided that you are ready to move forward, we can begin the booking process.   First I will send over a contract and invoice, which can be signed and paid online. A retainer fee is due upon booking.  I accept payment via check, debit and/or credit card. Wedding dates are reserved once the contract is signed and retainer fee is paid.
